'70 911 Tranny
Can someone please help decipher transmission on my '70 911S based on number stamped: 911/011 10 7108898
I'm trying to figure out from transmission experts what I have on the car. I kinda have an idea what it is, but would need other opinions. Any help or info would be truly appreciated...TIA |

I think you have a few extra digits floating about .
According the the little reference book 911/01-7108898 is a 5 speed transmission for a 1970 911 There is no reference to a type 911/011 indicated... All the special order/special ratio type 911 transmissions ave type #'s 911/8x

7 = Transmission for 6-cylinder engine.
1 = 5-speed, standard ratio. 0 = Model year 1970 type 911/01 The 10 in the middle indicates the trans was originally equipped with a limited slip diff. This was the usual 5 speed for the year and would be found in all models; T, E & S
