Power window question.

I have an '87 930. The passenger side window is stuck in the open position. Neither of the switches are working. Is there a way to get the window up manually. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Dennis.

If it's like my 88 3.2 you remove the small door speaker (tweeter) behind that is a manual mechanism that requires an Allen wrench (5mm?, don't remember). I found my window was just sticking and 1 or 2 manuals cranks and it now works fine. I think it needs to be lubricated.
Good Luck,

just a thought - check the fuse?

try pulling out the window swithch and look at it first. Sometimes the wire falls out of the swithch. If so, tighten it up and push it back in.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Buck - The door panel has a aftermarket speaker. I will check there when I get home.

Steve - the fuses seem to be ok.

jthwan22- I did pull the switch out and the connections seemed ok.

Can I assume that I could try to use the switch from the working window to rule out if the switch is the problem?

Also, could a bad relay only affect one window?

Thanks again, Dennis.

Dennis I had the same problem last week and everything looked ok and all switches checked out. I finally traced the problem to the fuse panel but not the normal fuses but the big round black one.

Dennis--
reason I suggested checking the fuse is (I think) you mentioned that both switches didn't work. (I'm assuming you meant the passenger switches on both the driver's side and the passenger side.)

Try replacing the fuse with a new one. I had both windows not work and the fuses looked fine. Replaced with new ones and now no more problem.

I love electrical gremlins...
