Can you recommend a person in Houston?
Need to replace the front window seal on my 1984 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe. Looking for advice as to any car glass companies that folks used in Houston with good success. The quotes from the usual Houston Porsche mechanics I use have been very costly.

Glass is tough. It's not just the glass, but also the correct gasket. When my 84 Targa needed new glass, I looked and looked. A lot of the normal glass guys quoted me, but they all wanted to use a "generic gasket". I didn't like that, because one of the known problems with our cars is a bad gasket leading to rust. So, I just gut up and let Mike Callas at Rennsport do it. Mike knows how to do it, and he bought the OE gasket. I also had mike pull the rear window and replace the rear window seal as well.

Had mine done at VIP on 290.
Really good guys and the tech knew old 911 glass replacement. Had to take it in though. VIP Glass 20220 Hempstead Road #44 Houston, TX 77065 (832) 735-7075 houstonautoglassrepairservice.com About $250, no antenna, and my own seal from PP.

Just an update for Houstonians ... had new seal and window installed ... with extensive corrosion under the old seal dealt with .... for $800 at Auto Haus K & H. Link here.
Work was done on time and in budget.

Just had mine done by SafeGlass in the Woodlands excellent job, ask for Gabe. Little over $500, ordered OEM seal thru Porsche their genetic seal doesn't fit
