Help me identify this 915 shifter

Hi,
This shifter is very different from my two others that I have.
91142414100
It has bolts and nuts in many places and is a one piece on the underside.
RSR?
Take a look at pictures.
Thanks.

Interesting. Can you get past the rust and remove the top carrier plate for a look-see or a clearer view of the underside? Thus far:

Carrier plate M6 nuts/studs replaced by bolt(s).
Slots to provide room for sliding fork replaced by fasteners

My thoughts;

very early piece( no revision)
Sand cast, could possibly be a pre-production part while permanent pressure cast tooling was being produced?

Aaron,
Think you're on the right track.

- The shift fork in the pics is a substantial machined metal piece, later to be replaced by a either a 2-piece or 1-piece formed rectangular fork.

- The pivots for the shift lever fork look to be M8 bolts at each end. The two more-familiar 915 shift housings used a roll pin at either end (early) and upgraded around '77 with one roll pin and an adjustable set screw/pivot pin and lock nut. Later 930 shift housings used somewhat the same lever/pivot form factor, again doing away with substantial castings and instead using bent, high strength sheet steel.

- The guide for the two springs (5th/Rev) in the production models was simpler than the one shown here.

- The shift lever is missing the welded tab that interacts with the 5th and Rev. "ears" on top of the carrier plate.

This is one for the march of progress timeline; sorta like this one
