Passenger side mirror-1978

On my recently acquired 78 911, I keep looking over to the non-existent passenger door side mirror when changing lanes etc.

Has anyone figured out how to resolve this issue without drilling and attaching a mirror on my beautiful door or fender/paint job?

Sounds impossible I know, but I'm sure you guys have tackled harder issues.

Thanks

Nick

Choose your desired mirror, flag, aero, fancy something or other...

Buy a suction cup base stand for a Go-Pro camera and connect them with some doo-dads.

Boom! Removable mirror that will hold, up to 150+mph

I think that some of the guys in the Ecomodder forum have replaced their removed passenger side mirrors with interior convex mirrors. I think some experimenting is involved. Many aircraft use a similar approach.

I recently installed a passenger side mirror on my 1977 as was quite disappointed with the results. It just didn't provide the expanse of information I thought it was going to. As a result I stuck on the largest convex mirror I could find, and enjoy being able to parallel park in safety and changing lanes without a blind side.

I like both approaches. I'll try the latter first. Seems the least obtrusive and cheapest.

Thanks boys!

^^Nothing like a senior citizen taking a selfie with a flip phone through his newly added side-view mirrors...

Argh! Holy Crapola!
But for the veritable plethora of solutions to my original post, I find it downright difficult to look at this train wreck of a car interior!
Is that a beanie baby ET peeking over the steering wheel?
Thanks Kach!

I gotta wonder what happens if he ever gets pulled over.

Seriously, he's never going to get a ticket, the guy is Mr. safety.

All I had in mind, and I don't think it's a weird suggestion, is to do something like in the very last two images.

Some Velcro mounting of a convex mirror, with maybe some black foam or balsa wood as a mounting spacer in lieu of the metal "L" bracket.

My '79SC Targa did not come with a passenger side mirror. No problem. I am used to always look over my shoulder anyway. Easy with a Targa and most older cars. Only newer cars are built like bunkers with hardly any visibility to the outside. Only there I feel the need for a passenger side mirror.
