Mille Miglia Tuscany Italy...
All,
I was in Italy the last few weeks. The first week was for work visiting wineries all over Tuscany.....then my wife met me in Florence for the second week. We decided to rent a car and drive through Italy. Started in Florence and drove to Siena, Montalcino, Montepulciano, then on to Orvieto and finally to Rome. When we got to Siena we discovered the Mille Miglia was driving through the town. Had no idea what it was......unbelievable showcase of vintage cars....... Porsche, Ferrari, Mercedes, and Alfa Romeo's. Attached are some of the photo's from Siena as well as on the road up to Montalcino during an unbelievable trip. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I love the part of Italy. I lived in bologna for 3 years and would drive around with my friends quite a bit. Great food and incredible people.

I hope to return and attend this event in the distant future.
As for Bolongia, I was on vacation in 1990 and was driving from the Garda lake to Florence, but stopped in Bolongia for an early dinner. Well, after returning to my 1981 BMW 323i, my side rear window was broken and items stolen from the car: camera bag, cloths, CDs, and even my freaked American beer from the cooler...they left the cooler. Screw Bolongia.

I will be driving that area in July. Rome to Venice with stops in Pitigliano, Sienna, Florence, Montepulciano and more. Can't wait, just wish I could take the Porsche with me....

Livetopedal,
It was certainly a bonus. Wife and I were just going to visit the different towns and were amazed as these beautiful cars started driving into Sienna. I didn't know what it was........then as we were driving to Montalcino started passing even more of them. I told her to start taking pictures as I drove. I've got over 100 pictures of cars we passed on the way. It deffinitely made the trip. Here's a couple more.... ![]() ![]() ![]()

![]() The beste part: when the line up stalled, the Car Nr. 356, a 1955 Porsche 356 1500 Speedster with Dr. Wolfgang Porsche and Junior Ferdinand Porsche halted just in front of me. I spoke to him, told him about my SC and whished him a good rallye. He was so very kind to sign my MM-flag. WOW! here's my Porsche related pics for you! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() at night in Peschiera del Garda, the drive trough ![]() ![]()
