Question Starter Wire, Speedo Cable

Getting ready to put the 915 back in (body is a 1970). Can anyone help me out with these two items? I have searched and can't seem to find confirmation... 1. Did the factory route the starter wire up and over the torsion tube? (so between tube and body if you are at the rear of the car looking at the tunnel openings.) Or did it come straight out and then up aft of the tube?
2. I need to route the new speedo cable through the tunnel. Is there a recommended placement? Does it matter? The cable was not there when I bought the body and I can't seem to find any info. I know which opening at the rear of the tunnel but that's about it. Are there clips/holders for the cable in the tunnel? Where does it exit and go through the front firewall? Any advise/diagrams/pics would be most appreciated. Thanks.

I just looked at a '68 912 that I'm starting to put back together, and the starter cable goes over the tube and is secured by 2 pairs of bend-over that also hold the wiring harness. As for the speed cable, I don't recall any clips, but there may be a couple. The clips would be readily accessible and visible if they're in there. Install the cable so all the bends are gentle and there is a pretty straight shot to both the speedo and the drive unit on the trans.
