a race prep local shop used a place in Calif to upgrade his cranks for racing. Other than that Competition Engineering balances his cranks after refirb using a so called better method than the newer dig balancers. If curious about that call CE.

I believe that Jerry Woods uses Jay's Precision Machine Shop in the Bay Area. Give him a call 408-980-0743, tell him Britain sent ya.

Regards,
Isn't this the guy that takes 1 year to repair a crank? And sometimes holds them hostage? Or have I got the name mixed up with another shop?

Thanks for the posts guys...keept them coming.

Souk,
I thought the same thing. Better dig the archives before calling Armando.

I hear very good things about this shop:
Stamos Crankshaft Specialties
2202 Rice Avenue, West Sacramento, CA 95691
(916) 376-9019

Armando has had a bad rep for delivery times. I know he is getting better. Aside from the delivery time issues, he does awesome crank
grinding, and knows the 911 cranks in and out.

Yep...he has all my stuff. I go over there all the time and he always has lots of 911 heads, rockers, cranks, etc. He like to tell stories of all the cool stuff he has done over the years. The best part is that he is a mechanical engineer turning machinist so he comes up with some cool stuff.

Maybe they do. It came back perfect. I couldnt ask for anything more.

Also, Harry Beiker runs a very reputable full service machine shop in OR.

Thanks for the posts guys...but anyone in the midwest or east coast? Shipping to Cali is a killer..like twice what it costs me to ship to the east coast.

I have great luck with Armando, however you can not please everyone. He went through a move and that always creates a back log. He is back in running reasonably quick in my opinion. William Knight

Regards,
Recently had Armando do a crank for me with great results. He has also moved to Texas so it may help on shipping. Not sure about the speed but the quality may be worth the time.

I had Armando service my crank and Jay make my rocker arm bushings. Ted Robinson at German Precision, who did some machine work for me at the same time, put me in touch with those two and served as a middleman with Armando. All my stuff was delivered on schedule. And yes, both Jay and Ted have a lot to share!
