I'm trying to determine the differences between the turbo and stock 3.2 motors. Thus far I've learned that turbo has larger bore, stronger pistons and I'm uncertain about stroke.
It also has more efficient oil pump system. What am I missing? ![]() ![]()

I think it's also turbo charged
![]() Lower compression ratio. Totally different ignition/fuel system.

Here's some info for you:
1985 (U.S.) Carrera motor: Type 930/21, 3.2L, Motronic injection (EFI), 95mm bore, 74.4mm stroke, 9.5:1 C/R, 207hp @ 5900 rpm, 192 lb/ft. torque @ 4800 rpm. 1985 (R.O.W.) Turbo motor: Type 930/66, 3.3L, CIS injection, 97mm bore, 74.4mm stroke, 7.0:1 C/R, 300hp @ 5500 rpm, 321 lb/ft. torque @ 4000 rpm. When the U.S. Turbo was reintroduced in 1986, it had the same specs as above, except power was down to 282hp, and torque was down to 287 lb/ft. (mainly due to emissions restrictions). |

Some parts of the turbo motors, heads at least, are made from a different aluminum alloy(more temperature tolerant).

Almost the same engine internals - different cams, pistons, and slightly bigger cylinders...
