Looked into head for the first time on a new purchase.

Just pulled my CIS and I'm cleaning things up before the new air box goes in. I just looked into the head for the first time today, looks pretty good? Anybody see any problems looking in, or around the port ?

Thankshttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1401572923.jpg

I don't think you could ask for anything nicer than those ports. If mine are that clean I'll faint.

What year is it? Looks like my '75. Could you tell me how long it took you to get the whole thing on, and maybe which way worked best? I need to do mine next week.

I can't pull the motor or even drop it a bit because of the cars location and lack of space.

Nice ports though. That CIS really cleans the back of the intakes...

The motor is a 75 and its in a 76, I think the original motor came apart and the PO put this long block in.

I haven't put mine back in yet, I'm waiting for my new (used) air box to arrive. The one I have blew apart and the PO glued it back together, it was a poor job. I don't think it will take very long to put it all back in, probably an hour or two. It was only about three hours to get it out and I took my time, marked all the lines and took lots of pics.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1401577623.jpg

That would have been perfect if he had used more glue. . . That said, it probably works with no leaks whatever.

Is the replacement (used) plastic, too? I'm looking at a welded stainless steel example.

Yes I bought an 81 - 83 used box, they have an upgraded distribution method for the cold start valve that is supposed to prevent the backfire.

Good on you for getting that off your car and putting on a nice, non-damaged piece. You can protect your investment by installing a pop-off valve to avoid blowing out another one.
