Purple Stuff sold at Auto Zone, mixes with water.....cheap but good. Used it on my engine trans. Get a couple of stiff bristle brushes, spray bottles and read the instructions......the mix will likely kill the sprayers.

I recommend careful use of a pressure washer with the mentioned degreaser. Mine came out looking almost new!

Some of the purple cleaners should not be used on aluminum or magnesium. I'd start with kerosene. Gibbs goes on the outside of mag cases. It's not what Porsche used but it is easier to find.

This is good to know, I think I would have just used whatever de-greaser I had in the garage for my engine and tranny cleaning I will be doing. What exactly will some of the purple cleaners do to aluminum/magnesium?

Check out some of the Youtube videos where they had stuff cleaned with CO2 or ice blasting.

I may do that

Just looked that stuff up because I never heard of it and wow, it's expensive!

edit: Ok nevermind, I was looking at the per case price. I was scared for a minute.

Dawn dish washing soap and a scrub brush. Buy both at the dollar store. Best couple of bucks you will ever spend.
