Turn Signal Issue 86 911
 

Progressing problem. Started with a weak driver side turn indicator, Front rear and dash lights. Thought possibly a ground. Now switch does not seem to work at all and had a very light stream of smoke rise from steering column area. Have not yet removed the steering wheel and disassemble. Any suggestions on how to narrow this down? Could be coincidental but wiper switch seems to be acting up also not shutting off. Could use some advice.

I have had issues with the stalk switches. You get dirt and crud in the stalk switches, my high/low beam went up in smoke one day, had it short out with smoke. What's the problem with the wiper switch? You could remove the switches and try to clean and relube them.. I finally bit the bullet and replaced both stalk switches after my smoke incident. No more problems after that.

Thanks! This verifies what I had thought. No other reasoning. Looks like I'll be digging into steering column. At least a comfy seat to do it in.:)
