5" aluminum tube/box located in left front hood
I swapped out my battery earlier tonight for the biggest Bosch battery I could fit.
In order to get it in I had to unbolt a 5" aluminum tube ( size of a sunglass case) from next to the washer fluid pump in the left front of my hood. What the heck is this thing? It had 2 wire leads, only one connected and was empty other than for a piece of cork and a few metal bits. Ballast of some sort? Some type of auxiliary battery box? The car is 1975 911s targa. I don't see it in any parts diagram and would like to just remove it as it seems unnecessary. Thanks!!! |

A half dozen photos would help, heck just one might do it.

If no one can tell me blindfolded I will post a pic....
But my guess is that someone knows what this thing is. |

It's gotta be the "Flux Capacitor".

How about a motion sensor for an old alarm installation.
