Guards Red Fuchs

I am thinking of finishing my Fuch wheels in Guards Red and wanted some advice on a "Rattle" spray can option that would be close to it.

I ordered paint cans from paintscratch.com to do my wheels and they came out AWESOME

just remember, painting is 95% prep

yep, I have been doing research here on the prepping stages. Thanx!

Are yours Red as well? PICS?

Here are mine. I thought they were a super high quality job, but the insides of the wheel have chipped a bit from wheel weight removal, etc.

I grew up in the 80's, so the red works for me.

Looks good Scott, though I am thinking of actually painting the "Star" in Red only, but not sure.
I hear ya, I grew up in the 80's and had my first 75 911 in high school.

whiz05403, did you have someone dip the wheels for the chrome appearance or did you do that yourself?

AVDCAV 06-05-2014 01:31 PM

You would be better off to take them to a shop so they can actually prime them
Lay the white base than the red top then clear them and bake them in there booth.
They will last for years. Regardless of what others say guards red without a white basecoat
Is not even close to the actual color , buy some paint and try it yourself you will see
I am right. Money well spent mine are years old and don't even have a blemish or spec o a chip on them. Do the prep to save some cash but if you add up the material cost it's not even worth it.

I'm not talking of making them nice I'm talking about mint,,, There is no spray bomb that's going to be glasso Spot on color match. In the end you,ll see it's within 300$ if you go the cheap way vs the right way. I learned this lesson already. And I'm a great painter but I don't have the booth to bake in . Rims take hi heat abuse. You really think a spray can is going to give the results your looking for?
