Thumbs up Porsche Take 1st Bronze at SCCA Run-Off's

Here's the FP Results with a 356 coming in third and a 914-4 coming in fourth behind a copy of Midgets. It sounds like the 356 driver had an eventful race as he was third, went off track and fell back to seventh and then fought back up to third by the finish.

The T2 Race has a couple of Boxsters starting in seventh and eleventh, running against a bunch of Bimmers, Pony cars and the odd Supra and S2000.

Porsche Crest Porsche Takes another Bronze

Porsche took another third place in T2 yesterday which makes it two bronze medals so far in the two classes where Porsche's were eligible.

In the T2 race it was the son (Jordan Sandridge) in a Firebird coming in second just ahead of Dad (Mark Sandridge) in a Boxster S in third. Alas, the story could have been differant as Dad went off after contact early in the race and fell way back in the order. But he showed what a Porsche can do in a field of pony cars when he fought his way up to third before he ran out of laps. The story could have been different since the Boxster S had the fastest race lap, about .5 seconds faster then the winner.

There's always next year!

Porsches are competing in the T1 race today (A 996 versus a whole field of Vipers and 'Vettes) and GT2. David Finch was picked by SportsCar to win the GT2 race in his Raetech 944 (4v) over Duane Davis's Toyota. Though the field is a little smaller this year, it is pretty competative with Tom Patton in his Sunbeam Tiger as well as some other 911's, 944's and 914-6's. The Porsche's generally finish well up in the field.

Porsche Crest David Finch's 944 takes Second in GT2

David Finch brought his 944 (4v) home in second place yesterday in the SCCA GT2 Race while the lone 996 in the T1 race seemed to be a DNS.

According to Finch:
Quote:
"I was able to stay with Duane (Toyota) early, but we got split up in traffic and I lost his draft. Duane had a little more solid set up than me. I had a few good times out there and a few bad times. Second is about it today."
Details of the race can be found here.
