No Low Beams????
Ok I am trying to help a new 911 owner fix some bugs in his car
It is a 80SC The problem right now is he has high beam ONLY. When you use the dimmer switch NOTHING happens, the lights just stay on high beam. I took the switch at the steering column out (not disconnected just out to look at) and everything looks fine. Is the something I should be looing at in particular? Here is the part I am talking about. http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/shopcart/911M/por_911M_electr_main.htm Thanks everyone. Would he be better off just buying a new part or can I save this one possibly? Shawn |
I had the same problem, replaced switch on column with a used one and problem fixed.

I had pretty much the same problem...high beams only, but in addition my guage lights wouldn't dim. I replaced both the headlight switch and the turn signal stalk switch with new ones. Problem solved. For a long term fix, have him add relays for the headlights.

Shawn...bb and nostatic know the headlite game/no question..might as well do headlite relays while your in there..why waste a new part without relays..kinda like, no low beams then post implant ..............Ronhttp://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/grin.gif

Heres a kicker.....
No left low beam......both high beams ok. New bulbs(H4) Sucro's relay kit installed new turn sig switch now....all blinkers ok(after cleaning and adj. bulb contacts) then new headlite switch... only happens w/lights on- right side blinkers on, no blinking left sides ok both brake lites on, no brake lite function(on/off w.brake switch) put back old headlite switch-same prob. checked all sig/lite grounds-all ok(now!) :( ChadC 71 911S Targa |
