ignition problem: how can i know if my distrbutor is weak??
I 've already read the several threads on this subject (thanks to Warren for all his knowledge http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/smile.gif ), and I suspect my Carera 3.0 distributor to be weak; I feel a kind of wearing, but what is the tolerance, before changing the bearings and spacers? is a vertical move of the axis normal ?
Thanks for your answers. Even if we are a bit far from you, guys, I really want to present my condolences for what happened on Tuesday, and reassure you about the fact that France is with you in those moments... we 've experimented this kind of terrorism in '86 an '94/'95, so we can understand... By the way, we will observe 3 minutes of silence at noon for you in the whole country; God bless you! |
Thanks for your support. I am proud of my French heritage.
Wiggle the distributor shaft. If there is any play, it is worn. Also, you can hook up a timing light. If the timing hops around AT ALL, then there is too much wear. ------------------ '83 SC |
