Racor Fuel Filter

I have been searching quite a bit and they seem to be mounted all over the place. Just test fit mine into the stock fuel filter/accumulator bracket and it seems to fit fine. Any issue with this location that I might be missing?

Which Racor

Perfect timing - I'm a week or so away from doing the same.

Which Racor filter are you using - also appreciate if you could post some pics showing you are mounting.

Thanks, Gordo

I made a bracket that mounts the filter and pressure regulator in the stock filter/accumulator location.

Supply Fuel Line to Racor Filter

Ayles,

What is your plan to connect the supply fuel line to the Racor filter? Also, do you plan to run a return line?

My '83 SC has two metal lines running from the tunnel / firewall to the engine compartment - a supply line that goes to fuel filter and accumulator and a return line.

I plan to keep my CIS fuel pump, using the PMO regulator to bring the pressure to 3 PSI. I also plan to plumb the carbs/reg using AN-6 line and fittings.

Meanwhile, the existing fuel lines don't appear like they will line up well with the filter or the return fuel line from the regulator. Also understand the fittings on these fuel lines are relatively unique - no off the shelf adapters to convert to AN-6 fittings.

I'm thinking I should just remove the hard lines and bring them to a shop to cut the lines (after the retaining bracket) and attach AN fittings.

Did you need to do something like this or is your set up different.

Thanks, Gordo

Gordo2,
I have done most of what you mention. Though I am not going to use the original hard lines. I got new tunnel lines with m14 fittings on each end from boxstergt. I have m14 to an-6 adapters at the rear end of the tunnel. From there it's all an-6 fittings and braided fuel lines.

I got the m14 to an-6 adapters from mocal. They may fit the stock tunnel lines... I don't recall the size exactly.

Happy to help any way I can, seems you are roughly in the same spot I am.

I actually ordered it over the phone, I just took a look at their site and not seeing what I have. I can post a pic of the one I have leftover when I get home.

Ive picked up on of these myself this week. How did you know what inlet/outlet ports to use? directions are not clear. it looks like you went in #1 and out #2. The other side says #3 and #4.

Page 2 of the PDF will help clear things up. I went in #3 out #4. The different in/out give you mounting flexibility. Just use the best combo of in and out for your install location and use the plugs on the ports you don't use.
