Recaro Classic S

Pulling these seats out my project 911. Based on some quick research it looks like these were popular in the 70's and 80's in MB, Porsche, and BMW.

Are they worth anything in the used market? Both have been recovered at some point and are functional. Pretty cool but not the look I'm going for.I'd give them about a 6/10 rating.

That was a very expensive seat in its day. Still comfortable, too.

Model C, I believe. The LS seats were non-electric.

Recaro

Those seats where $10k when they where offered new and probably the coolest and most exclusive aftermarket touch in many 80's cars (up there with the gooseneck radio-controlled Blaupunkt Berlin and Momo Porsche Design steering wheel). Nowadays they can fetch up to $5k if perfect/redone and about half of that in a working overall good condition. They are very hard to redo right because of so many sections and parts. I have a pair of the Ideal C's with the headrest speaker option that I had re-done for my 930 80's dream machine.

Wow, so you think asking $1500 to $2000 would be fair? Like I said they are in pretty good shape and I think everything works on them. This could be a little pot of gold for my 911 project.

Yes I would, but be broad. If no one has use for them here at the forums, try ebay since the seats can be used in many different cars and there you'll have a large and diverse buyer base. Be patient, they are not cheap and maybe you'll have to wait for the right buyer. Be international, they have the biggest following in german vintage-tuners so it is probably a good idea to advertise in ebay.de
Hope this helps.

While not in the same resale league as vintage Recaro Sport Seats, which fetch around $5K/set, they are worth some money, esp. in good shape.
