Brazing on roof pillar?

Hey All. I'm a complete newb here so please go easy. I've got a 76 that I've almost got completely stripped to the tub. All that's left is the dash and wing harness. I'll likely have plenty of other Q's in the future, but here's the first; I noticed some brazing on the top corner of the roof pillar above the drivers seat. Is this normal on these cars or is this indicative of some PO repair? I bought the car in pieces but noticed that the top window frame on the driver's door touched the roof slightly when the door was closed. Worried...

Looks like it was worked on for some reason. I would think since your already down to metal you could just make the adjustments while your there though.
I'd say there may be more work preformed as you remove more paint.

Doesn't look like Porsche craftsmanship!!

I have just stripped mine to bare metal and there was no join there at all, guessing you will find some more further down, if it's any consolation stripping your 911 back is like a treasure hunt but I would rather find it and fix it than drive around like I am sure many are in cars with lots of bodges.

Good luck

Mot necessarily a botch job. Before MIG welding was an affordable option most bodywork was done with asethylene equipment, which more often than not involved brazing. Brazing done right is quite strong and as it is done at a relatively low temperature does not lead to warping. The downside is that you cannot weld were there was brazing before as the metal will become very brittle.
