My sub strap/harness mounts.
I posted this in the 930 forum but I'll share here as well.
I just finished these up and I thought I would share them. I have seen some horrible mounting in these cars and it just doesnt sit right with me. So I decided to make a nice set of sub strap mounts that also included some extra structure for the inner lap belt mount. I'm very happy with how these came out. I'm hoping that this will encourage others to not put holes in the floor. Started with a sheet of 304 on my water jet. ![]() After some time designing what I thought was best this is what I came up with. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Next I built the actual sub bar(304) after bending and test fitting the plates. ![]() As Schroth recommends, the bar was placed around 20 degrees. ![]() View with staps ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Sitting in position
![]() The lap mounts are perfectly inline with the oem mount. ![]() Bolt the seat down with new longer proper grade hardware. ![]() Slits in the carpet. ![]() ![]() Wrapped all harnessed and put in pins. Reinstall shifter and I'm done. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() To wrap it all up - The plates sandwich between the seats and the body. Could perfectly work with sliders aswell. The inner lap belt mount goes through my bracket then through the tunnel then screws into the supplied schroth backplates. Now I just need the actually install the applebiz carpet kit I've had laying around for a year. Cant wait to get that in there. All installed on my 85 930. Questions welcome. Criticize if you must.
