3" to 3.5" caliper adapters
I purchased these from a fellow Pelican but I or he don't know how they can be used or who made them. I'm trying to mount 'A' calipers to early T struts. Any info would be greatly apreciated.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1402881158.jpg

Have no idea if they fit or work properly but how they are intended to be mounted appears obvious in your pictures.

The 3 mounting holes of the adapters line up but the spindle mounting surface has the step where the original calipers mounted and the original ears interfere with the adapter.

Possibly some machining is required?

it works !!
I used a pair of these adaptors about 30 years ago to mount aluminum S calipers to the 911 front struts I had in my 914 hot rod.
I believe the mounting ears have to be cut off of the front strut so that the adaptor can mount flush with the flat portion of the spindle. I had 8 inch rims with slicks and never had a problem. Obviously, you would want to use some serious bolts and red locktight them. I don't think I would do that now, I just can't see much strength in the mounting, using three smaller bolts in shear. hth, chris |
