				check passenger seat setting alert

I have a 2006 911Carrara S convertible. On the dash when I start the car I get an error message ... Check Passenger Seat Setting ... With an image of a seat with the airbag deployed. I clear it and the RED ! light stays active all the time. Also the Passenger Air Bag deactivated light on the center console is lit (not sure if it is always lit when passenger seat is empty. Any ideas?

Is there anything pressing against the seat back? or is there something under the seat? The warning is on because the weight sensor in the seat is getting a funny reading. Very common on Boxsters and Caymans, usually the passenger seat is too far reclined and the pressure on the seat back is causing a false reading. I recommend you "Check Passenger Seat Setting", try moving the seat base up or down and adjust the backrest fore/aft until the light goes out. If there's no issues causing free movement of the seat, you might have a bad weight sensor. | ||

That was it. Lifted seat base up and light went off. Thanks!
