What a weiny ground strap

I picked up the OEM ground (body) strap for my 73.5T (2.4) last week and went ahead and installed it. It was not easy getting the engine side bolt off hidden by the tranny mount bracket. The old strap was something more from a discount shop, but was also considerably larger then what I got. The OEM strap (dealer provided) was only an inch and a half wide, 12 inches long and comprised of copper. Very thin and flexible. More like a wrist bracelet!!

Not being an electrician, does it really matter on what size a ground has to be in this situation? I have read, the bigger the better, but where do you draw the line? Obviously the Porsche folks claim this is all one needs for effective engine to body grounding.....................

Regards

I'm also not an electrician, but I regard that ground strap to be plenty big enough for its job.

Just a SWAG, of course, but I presume that a 10 lb, 750 MCM ground strap would be overkill!

Bob, just remember...electrons are little wienies, too! That ground strap is substantial.

Most houses don't have as good of ground strap.
