Post 915 ACCESS HOLE

Is there anything in there that can actually be serviced without taking the tranny out? I'm talking about the forks, etc\

My first gear problem continues. It is NOT the linkage.

John,

Well, yes, there are at least three things that can be done of the remedy/fix category with the transaxle still in the car!

1. If the U-shaped fork guide attached to the plate is loose, it can be retorqued, which will remove a great deal of 'vagueness' from shifting.

2. If the guide has been loose a significant amount of time, and has abnormal wear or has been damaged, it can be replaced.

3. If there has been leakage around the plate, the gasket can be replaced and/or sealant can be applied and the leak can be fixxed!
