What is involved in getting a salvage title legally on the street
Hi,
I have been looking around for a good 81-90 roller and have had an offer for an straight 83 911 for $1K. The caveat is that it has a salvage title. I am seriously thinking about going in this direction as I have all the parts to put this baby back to life and then some and I don't intend to resale the Porsche. Assuming that it pass the Virginia safety inspection and all, what is involved, normally, to get the state to allow me to drive a salvage titled Porsche?. Andy |

Nothing really (at least here in CA). Salvage title is just a way of telling future buyers that the car has been damaged and totalled out - either in an accident or a theft...

Yes, sorry for the delay. As long as you have the salvage title you are good to go.

Andy,
Check with your insurance company as well. Some companies refuse to insure a salvage title. Better to know beforehand. JA
