I'm not ashamed to admit, I teared up a little bit at the reveal. My dad and I didn't get along much until I was about your son's age, and one thing that brought us together (besides me being forced to help him build his Jeep) was when I bought my 911 at 22 and we started working on it together.
This is excellent. I hope you (he) keeps this car forever and will pass it down through generations. I'm not a sentimental person, but things like this and watching certain episodes of Overhaulin' will choke me up. There's a very special bond between men and their sons/fathers and cars. |
Love reading other peoples stories. Thanks for sharing.
We absolutely drove the wheels off the Porsche this weekend. A Total of 400 klm's!!!! Sought out some beautiful back roads and opened it up. Now let me remind you that this is the first time either of us had ever been for a ride in a 911. WHAT A STELLA RIDE! OMG!!! The handling, the power delivery, the torque, the ride quality, seating position and visibility, braking and ooooh that sound!!!! ! List goes on and on. Poor Dean! Couldn't get the smile off his face all weekend. His cheeks were really sore at the end of the day! Not that he was complaining. I had done a 1/2 marathon Sunday morning as a result of that my legs were quite ( actually very) sore. I was limping by the end of the day. That clutch is heavy. Not that I'm complaining. Ha ha ha. Any way here are the obligatory "poser" shots we took. Before taking off for the day. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/07/28/vy6a4asy.jpg Here is Dean spying on it during a lunch stop. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/07/28/be2azuna.jpg http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/07/28/puhu3e5a.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/07/28/qa4u8yhu.jpg Sexy from any angle. |
