'Engine Complete, Bodywork Next....

This thread is a follow on from my engine rebuilding thread entitled 'First time engine removal questions'. My engine is complete so it is bodywork time.

I am having the bodywork and repaint done as I do not have the skills or facilities to tackle this myself. I did, however strip down the interior, removed bumpers, vlalnces, mirrors, and anything else that would assist. So far the car has been mostly paint stripped with glass, doors, bonnet, targa cover, and engine cover removed.

So far all looks reasonably good. One sill needs minor work and one kidney bowl needs replacing. The front wings needed minor work as do the doors. The car has been repainted numerous times in the past and has its fair share of uneven panels. Both rear arches seem to have been scraped on the edges at some point and were badly filled. No rust though.

Front wing lower edge was rusty under headlamp bowl. Now repaired.

Removal of front and rear screens revealed no rust around the frames.

No rust around Targa hoop either.

After reading so many bodywork horror stories on this forum, I am very pleased with the minimal amount of work that is needed to eradicate rust from my car!
