Scored big time, the steal of the century, just got me a 69 911t today for $2500
I am sure many of you read my earlier post about value of a 69 911T, i just got the car today and have so many plans, i am overjoyed and cannot think clearly and cant decide what should be done first, so many questions
1) go back to original tangerine color? 2? engine rebuild first or body work? 3) what's lurking underneath? 4) chase originality and value or just do it my way and enjoy the car? this is my second 911 and I want this one done right because it is mostly original ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I'd say the fewer the original parts, the more it becomes a hotrod candidate, but given such originality, I'd head back in that direction.

damn, nice find! Hopefully the cancer isn't terrible in all the spots you CANT see, but honestly, I think that it is worth the $2500 no matter WHAT is inside, lol. Hell, if those are original Fuchs you already got your money back, lol
OH, and I vote conservative "period correct" hotrod (ala hood lamps etc!)... looks like a lot isn't original and would need to be replaced like mirrors, seats etc., and in MY opinion you'll have much more fun making it look period correct but how YOU want it, rather than obsessing over how it SHOULD be or how it left the factory.... unless your goal is to show it, then you're in for some real work (then again if you've seen mine maybe I am biased lol) Last edited by IslandHopper; 09-23-2013 at 05:22 PM.. |

Are the cops after you yet? I'd say you stole it. Reminds of a friend who recently picked up a '66 VW 21 window bus for $2500. It had rust but restored ones go for well north of $100K. Why can't I find such deals?
Just restore it close to stock, but no cutting into the body, so it will always be relatively easy to go 100% original some day. No flares, in other words.

Congratulations. That is a steal.
Tangerine will look awesome on that car and since it was original, it will be a plus to many future buyers. Sorry if I missed it. Does this car run? Mine in 2002. ![]() ![]() After paint and engine work. ![]() ![]()

make it the color YOU like
as the body shops all say "paint is temporary" I agree re no flares or hacks that mean it is hard to return to period correct or original |

Under that cheapo cloth upholstery are the ultra $$$ period Recaro sport seats! Probably worth $5000 all by themselves! Get them reupholstered in period vinyl or sell them off and get a good bankroll to start the restoration.
Good luck! |

LOL! Thank god they aren't vertical videos!!
![]() Tangerine is a great color, I'd vote go that way. Don't be afraid to get a little hot-rod-y, but don't do anything that will ruin long term value. i.e. keep it narrow and air cooled. At $2500 initial investment, even if you went in for a full on restoration, I bet you could "make your money back" on a totally original car. Congrats!

sorry guys, camera phone was right but somehow the uploading screws things up, blame it on IOS 7 glitches
yes i agree with keeping it narrow style, i like the Magnus cars with small details he does in decklids and such, nothing drastic |

crap i really thought the upholstery was part of the seats but that's great to know, i'll check out whats underneath and shop for upholstery places, the whole car has that fabric and looks professional, wish the company had left business card or something in there

very nice work, no the engine has not been turned in last 7 years and am afraid to mess with it so i will be looking for rebuilders, seller said he ran after a restore and leaked oil, he suspects that he didnt use sealant in certain gaskets to be the cause |
