Post Steve S.

Some friends recommended I check this site out because I have an old 911 waiting for a resto, anyhow

Seriously Steve,

Post what you want, but give up the 'he man' surfer bit, its embarrassing to surfers generally.

QUOTE VERY few people Insult me to my face At 6'3" 265lbs This WATERMAN...blah blah blah...I favorite activity is long distance Open ocean swimming, 4 miles is my normal swim...blah blah blah....I will take you surfing when I paddle out everyone knows me and says Hi. I do not know many of them but they know me. The best part is that the Babes in their G-strings come right over a hang out at my van with me because I am a fun guy to be with. END QUOTE

'Empty vessels make the most noise!'

I don't necessarily disagree with all of your ideology but leave the reps of all watermen (eg Laird, Jeff, Jerry) off your posts. Your embarrassing us!

See ya in the soup, chilling!

Dave

Hey Dave, read your profile. You Socal weenies! Try surfing at 45 North! Just kidding...and I'm too old to ride nowdays..did it before bikinis, let alone thongs. But, I have done a bit of gas sucking, have hung toes off the nose, at 6'3", which isn't great for balance, you know? But, one question...what the hell is
"abseiling "?????

Wouldn't really call myself a waterman...all I did was some surfin', some scuba diving, all recreational. Navy divers? Those are watermen! But I did body surf the wedge...once. Dug lots of sand out of my private parts, almost broke my neck... I'm older and wiser now...But gawd, I'd like to watch the Newport beach bunnies...one more time. Hope that hasn't changed!

Hee hee you guys are funny! Ah yes the old toes over the nose is so cool especially if your over 6". I admire anyone who, at such a height and weight, can 'hang' - the right people make it look so effortless.

Yeah, I think guys who dive for a living are impressive watermen, I'm sure some grow gills.

I've seen guys in some of our surf trips, who dive for marine life as a living. These guys are unreal - serious lung capacity. Often short on life expectancy. Right now I can't remember where I saw it but once we were told about these guys who get pulled along by a boat froma rope wrapped around their wrists or on some wist belt. As they go along, they scoop up their various bounty from the ocean floor to feed the village.

Abseiling - traversing down mountain sides using ropes (a bit like rock climbing but going downward) - It's the technique some of the rescuers have been using since Tuesday to get down amongst the debri. As you become proficient, you more or less step off backwards from a mountain top and just slide down a rope, obviously secured at the top, at speed. You may have seen some military forces do a similar thing from helicopters.

Hi to any surfers, past or present.

Anyhow, I think I'm not talking about Porsche cars so I better quit before I get in trouble. Sorry to get in on your site about the wrong issue. The posts from Steve were a bit distracting though.

Check ya, Dave

(sorry about any spelling mistakes)

I'm 5' 11", 175 lbs and I would open a can of whoopass on anybody anytime....

Would, if I didn't have asthma and stuff. And if I were more physically adept and imposing. Knock that duracell battery off my shoulder, go on, I dare ya.
