Porsche buying scam???

Has anyone heard of Ray Vessel Shipping?? I am looking at buying a late 60s 911 from a guy who advertised on Craig's list. You are supposed to send the funds to this company and they ship the car. You have three days to check the car before you commit. (but they already have your funds) Is this for real? Anyone know about this company????

Thanks buyer beware lots of scams on Craig's list.
HH

Not even close to being legit. Run away fast, and report the listing to CL as fraud.

Yea...that 3 days to commit is the give away. So he would just send this car out to whoever and pay the transport charges. And then if it's not to their liking they'll just pay to transport it back? Sounds too good to be true

Add the fact the asking price is probably mid-twenties for a car you KNOW to be worth more than $40k, amiright?

Tell him that you are going to fly there to inspect, have a PPI and then pay. See what he says. I would want to look at a 60's 911 before I bought it.

Good luck

Scam 911

Yes, that's exactly what I thought.
Code:
"Tell him that you are going to fly there to inspect, have a PPI and then pay. See what he says. I would want to look at a 60's 911 before I bought it."
That's exactly what I did, I told him I want to see the car and then make the transaction on the spot. Probably will never hear form him again.

Amazing people are trying to get away with this crap. Some unsuspecting individual will be taken.

I just saw one on cincy craigs list. I asked for pics and saw what would probably be a good $$$$$$$$$ concourse car for 20k. Add to that he was going to Europe for a while and had to have a third party handle it. Oh but the title was signed already for a quick deal!!!!!!

No thank you.

Scammers??? The only way for people to avoid pulling a scam is to
reassure them anything goes bad on their behalf will result to an ass-kicking! I guarantee you they wouldn't want it and if so, let the fun begin. I'm a living example of the very promise Have a nice day

Since I told him I needed to see the car first and travel there to drive it, he disappeared. Funny how that works, he said he was a pilot with a new job, he was in Indonesia, so he couldn't show the car personally; what a load of BS.
