How many produced?

Just wanted to know how many 1987 911 turbo look cabriolets were built. And in silver. Where can I find this information? The guy I bought the car from said it was pretty rare, but I haven't been able to find official info.

Thanks!

Using the search function, you can find all kinds of neat information. That said, when I did a search for turbo and my screen name nothing came up. I had to use turbo-look and my screen name to get the following thread

Where I wrote "In 1987, according to PCNA, 10 coupes, 4 targas and 16 cabs were produced with the turbo-look option. There is an unfortunate reason why I know the exact numbers. I had to call PCNA after my mother's turbo-look targa (with LSD) was stolen out our driveway in Miami several years back. Unfortunately, the insurance company didn't value the car as much as we did."

Enjoy your car.

That'll teach Mom to keep her LSD in the car.

My father in-law in Detroit has one of the other 15 1987 turbo-look cabs. His is triple navy blue that he bought new off the lot in '87. It now has less than 8,500 miles (no typo). He has had a 993 and a 996 come and go but the "frog" will never leave. The car still has a new car smell and is clean enough to be a concours winner.

Pretty cool...

to find out that my car is pretty rare. Mine has 30K documented miles.... since I was a kid I've always wanted the 911 turbo slant nose coupe. When I came a across this one, it just seemed more practical to have the turbo look with the reliability of a normally aspirated engine. I also found out the the slant nose cars have some stability issues. Didn't plan on getting a convertible either, but one drive had me convinced. I can cruise at 65 and enjoy it as much as driving 110.

I've also heard that you can submit your VIN for official Porsche documents. Where can I send my info and what will a receive?

Thanks for everyones input!
