rear sway bars on 911/930 conversion

maybe a fellow modifier out there can asnswer this. I am putting an 84 Euro 930 motor with the 77 shortbellhousing LSD trans in my 86 carrera. I have both the 86 carrera rear sway bar and the 84 930 swaybar. They are differently shaped but do I need to use the 930 swaybar for clearance reasons when installing the 4 speed. The 930 sway bar has a jog in the middle and I do not know if this was done for clearance reasons or to strengthen it. The carrera is pretty much straight. Thanks Rob

The 86 bar will be larger diameter too. If I recall the sways increased in size at both ends in 1985. If you haven,t changed the front to match you should use the one that matches the pair. If you need a drop in the middle to clear the trans you are stuck (unless you find an even later rear (1987up rears all had a drop in the middles.to clear parts of a g50 trans
