Helion looking for a targa to do a test fit on.

The Helion composite targa top prototype is now ready to test fit on a vehicle, '74-86.
I'm looking for someone in the metro detroit area who can make their car available for a few minutes. I can come to you...

Metro Detroit area, huh?

I am in Clarkston, and have a 79SC if you want to do a "dry fit" on it.

PM me...

Robey, pm sent.

Heinz, good to hear from you!

While I'm not sure of the weight of the folding top, the original top I did was a clone of the factory hardtop. This is the one that has been thoroughly tested and shown on nineball's car.

That top weighs 10.5 lbs which is less than half of the original factory hard top.

I expect the J-Hook version to come in close to that, maybe slightly higher due to the weight of the J-hook latches.

Yes Heinz my trip the Fort Worth went as well as it could have. I had the opportunity to say goodbye to my grandmother before she passed.
Thank you.

Test fit at Robey5's went well this morning. Thanks for the support!
Have a few adjustments to make then will be looking for another test fit soon.

Todd:

I must say that I was impressed by the work you've done thus far with this development.

I am going to keep an eye on that development thread that you have been updating. As I was knee deep in my "paver project" I did not get to spend much time talking to you - but I was glad to be able to help out a little by providing another data point.

At some point, when the car that I am working on is worthy, I will have to hit you up for one of those tops. Very nice.

Regards,
BR

Will you make tops for earlier cars ('73) at some point?

At some point. Right now I'm concentrating on finishing the current version.
