Angry It just dies

OK boys one more time my 82 SC just up and dies any time but I have noticed that it does it more when its not up to "normal opp temp". It will start run for a few then it dies just like turning off the ighnition. When it does this the fule gage drops to empty the oil pressure drops to nil, the battery light and the oil pressure light come on. I've suspected the fuel relay but it is new and I have another new one also. At first the relay socket female end was so spread out the relay was not making good contact, this was easy all I haad to do was to wiggle the relay and poof dead. So I squeased the sockets to tighten up the contacts and bingo! no amount of wiggling will kill it. I thought that fixed the problem but no it still just dies accelerating up the fwy on ramps boom dead, a 3G right hand turn (well not 3g's maby .94) and a quick flip of the ighnition switch and pow its on again, and won't die all day after that. It runs really good otherwise.

"a quick flip of the ighnition switch and pow its on again"

Bad electrical portion of ignition switch, or bad connection on switch?

Sounds like the electrical portion of the switch has gone "belly up." Do some searching here on the board; you'll find discussions on replacing it. Fortunately, it sounds like you don't have to replace the mechanical part.
