draining oil sump for stud repair
Recently changed my engine oil only to find 2 sump studs are pulled and leaking. If I remove the sump plate to make the repair to the studs how much oil will I lose. Will the oil from the tank drain into the sump and continue to run out? Should I just bite the bullet and drain all the new oil and replace with new, Thanks Jerry

Buy a clean 5 gallon bucket at Homer D. Drain oil into it, fix stud, pour oil back in

Engine on (I've heard it distributes the oil more evenly) or off?
