Another Air box replacement question

I really do not want to start a war like I have seen in previous posts over the topic. Just had a quick question regarding replacing the Factory Air box on a 3.2.

I was doing valves the other day, and realized there is a sizable crack in the back of my factory air box.

I do have a WTB add in the classifieds regarding a used factory airbox, but If I wanted to move to a K&N cone filter set up, where can I purchase the cone mounting plate that bolts to the AFM? I have done a few searches, and came up negative. Also, what K&N do most people run? Do you happen to have the part number?

I would really appreciate if someone could give me a hand. Thanks alot guys.

Anthony

I think you're looking for something like this.
The cone filter is clamped onto a mounting tube, and both come as a kit.

On my 3.2, I just removed the PO's barely used K&N cone intake, and reinstalled the stock airbox.
The K&N mount is a direct bolt on "elbow" that reuses the same 4 bolts used for the stock airbox
I just listed it in the for sale section.

If you've driving the car with a cracked air box, at least seal that crack with duct tape if it's on the side that's past your air filter.

PM me if interested. I can show you before/after photos, as well.

Sugarwood, I really appreciate the response. Will send you a pm.

Good morning Peter bull,

I have read some reviews that have not given that product the best rating. I believe people have had a hard time fitting that cone, and having it rub on the intake. It does look very nice though.

Thank you

My housing was broken also so I went the same direction. However, I can tell you from experience that the Patrick Motorsports air filter will rub against the boss on the intake that the OEM air filter housing attached to. However, 15 minutes with a grinder will remove that boss.

Look good, very clean & sound good. No HP gain whatsoever but the sound give you an impression there is.

Not really hard to installed but it does rub on the unused on the intake. End-up fab a small bracket for it to solve the problem.
