fellow '87 owners - I need your help

Could one of you kind folks please post a pic of your original tool kit with all the pieces laid out. I am searching and want to buy one with all the right stuff.

Thanks in advance.

Please post pics only from an '87.

No offense to all the SCWDP guys - but this post concerns Carrera owners only!!

I know you said 87 only, but if an 85 is the same, would you like me to go snap a shot?

Thanks r22, while I definitely would like to see an '87 kit - a pic of your 85 would be nice for comparison.

Thanks,
Randy

Thanks Bob,
Any chance of you laying out all the pieces and taking another shot so I can get a real good look. The kit I am currently interested in seems to be missing a few things based on your pic.

Thanks

This is what I am trying to verify as complete. What do you think?
I know the belt is missing - but what else?

And here's mine, which I believe to be original and complete. The pic in the checker board background is the Porsche supplied tools and the other in the case has a couple of extras including the sunroof crank and inline fuse for my stereo amp.

I am missing the spring item and the half wrench which i think is for the fan. Does anyone know the technical term for these two parts.

Oh I dont have the belt either. That was part of the kit?

Spring item = spark plug wrench
half wrench = fan pulley nut wrench
and yes the fan belt is part of the kit.

Now my question. I have the allen wrench with the plastic cone on the end. Why is the plastic cone there? What is it used for?

It's actually rubber. It's used to hold the allen head bolts on the tool when removing the battery hold down. It's way down there. May be some other uses I'm not aware of.

Do the belts degrade with age? Although I've got one in my tool kit, I'm sure it's probably the original that came with the car ...should I get a new one 'just in case'?

Here's mine from a UK 89 3.2 Carrera

Heres mine which I think is mainly original but not quite complete...

Plastic Gloves
Plastic Bag
Plastic Bag
Wheel wrench
Fan Belt
Fuses
?
8/9mm wrench
10/11mm wrench
12/13mm wrench
14/15mm wrench
17/19mm wrench
?
?
?
Pliers
Flat ended screwdriver
Cross ended screwdriver (not sure this is original, doesnt fit handle)
?
Handle
Towing hook
What am I missing? Anything vital?

Not sure on what some of the items are for. Can anyone explain?

Thanks

Andy

Andy, is that a tow hook at the lower right corner (#21)? I've never seen one for 911. And where does it go?

The tow hook was deleted for the US Carrera's, It is only on the ROW models, I believe the SC's or earlier US models may have had it.

I think my 87 also has a couple of T-handle allen wrenches. I don't know if my kit is has all original tools. I have a 911 authenticity book at home that I believe lists the correct tools for the SC and Carrera years.
