225/45/15 on 7's and 8's... Who's running them?
Looking to pick up some new tires for my 15" 7 & 8's and was thinking about running 225/45/15's all around... I understand the tires are a bit shorter, but seeing as there are not too many options out there it might work. Anyone running this setup and have pics?
Thanks |
like to see some pics too.

You are gonna be REAL low, they WILL fit, but your speedo will be off and tach higher at freeway speed.
They have been hard to find in 225 and 245/45 both in 15 and 16....plus spendy. Kumho discontinued them, irked me big time. |
Found these guys recently, but I like the $117 of the Hankook 225/45/15 vs the $296 of these 225/50's

I run 225/45 on the front. 275/35 on the rear. Seems to work fine on the street. I'm on Hoosiers for the track however. I also run 225/50 toyos all the way around, which works great. Also for the track. 1st pic is Hoosiers 2nd is with the toyos. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1405285252.jpg

205/50 front and 225/45 rears, on 7". Some straight line acceleration. These track tires always look quite small -- cuz they are -- and I would never use that size on the street. Very noticeably smaller than my street tires which are Goodrich 205/60 and 225/60 on 7 and 8s. Speedometer reads 68 at true 71 mph with the 225/60s.

225/45-15 BFG Rivals on 15x7 and 8 Fuchs. They do look short. About 7% speedo error. Lowers the car and improves acceleration. Great for autocross! I may be getting 17" wheels for the street or I may just go with these.

Yup it looks like they are almost 2" shorter then stock... That said they look at home on the long nose...

Are you at stock ride height msterling?
|
The car was a bit lower than Euro ride height with normal size tires. Now it is really low to the ground but the only difference is the tires.
