anyone ID this metal out of my trans?

my trans ('78 SC) shifts lousy from 1st to 2nd, so i drained my gear oil and found these bits on the magnet.



2nd gear dog teeth?

Here are some pics of my dog teeth Mayo sent me.

Check out the little serration marks. If you can find them on the bits, pretty much a certainty.

It's very common for these to break off and end up on the drain plug.

If you are having trouble shifting, I'd pull the trans and fix it before it grenades.
