Is it okay to trim these?

Hi All -
I am getting my ducks together to install a side mount seat in my 77 as a last ditch effort to get more head room.

On the side mounts, is it okay to trim the vertical section of the brackets if they obstruct the belt holes or have interference with any part of the seat? I will be using brackets made by Planted. Red line is an example of where I would cut.

Thanks!
Scott S

Hi John -
No, not yet. It will not be here for another week or so. I know that I need to get the seat prior to ordering the side mounts, as it's width will dictate if I need the 90 degree or offset mounts.

I am just doing as much research/fact finding as I can before diving in.

Suggest you do a test fit, get the seats where you like them, leave yourself the option to go up one hole "just in case", and remove what's left over. Just my two cents...

Thanks All.

93nav - yep, thats them. I picked them because I like their slot and hole design - it seems to have the most options. I am not a racer in any way, so I am not concerned about weight or anything. I am purely looking for head room.
