Thumbs up A dream come true =D (993)

Hey guys,
Just wanted to share that I finally fulfilled my lifetime dream of owning a 911. Never would I have thought that I'd be driving a 993.

I purchased this car on friday.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1863437578&rd=1
Can't wait till monday/tuesday when I pick it up from detailing etc.. Until then I'll keep living in my 20 year old dream world.

I'll probably have a few questions but unfortunately I cant install much in it (performance wise) untill the 2 year warranty is up.

Thanks for listening to my ramblings.
Princeton Wong

That's a beautiful car.

I'd make sure that driver's floormat is lying flat and in place, though.

We are both living the same dream. You will have a permanent smile once you pick it up.

I think those are the same 3-piece wheels that came on the 993RS. If so they are 8Jx18 up front and 10Jx18 in back, not 19 inches as stated in the ad. One option that won't effect your warranty that will really improve the looks and handling of your car is the M030 Euro sport suspension. Make sure you spend some time over on the Rennlist 993 board. You can learn a ton of info about our cars. Enjoy!

were you the high bidder on ebay? and if so did you
make sure ebay got their commision? alot of dealers use ebay to get national coverage then stiff ebay out of their fee. hope
it doesn't sour the new joy of owership but it is best to have
some scruples unless your're a big C.E.O. then they know they're
going to hell anyway.

wow, nice wet blanket mr. k. It would appear that the auction was stopped early and the purchase made offline. Most dealerships have that clause in their auction (car subject to prior sale/local purchase...and the buyer is local to the dealership). While you can question the morality of such a process, I think the target of your "affection" should be the seller, not the buyer. For all you know he walked into the dealership and bought it off the floor.

Thanks guys.

tkrefeld- I ended up getting it for 38k including the warranty (which costs 2850). So the car itself was right around 35 . Too late on the catalogs too. While looking for a good car I spent my time researching what can be done to them.

fryardds-Very cool, what 993 did you end up getting? About the rims, you are correct about them ebing 18's. They are the versions made by Kinesis (supercups) and not the OEM RS rims. I also just joined rennlist today. Guess I'll be seeing you over there too.

kepperly-I held no bid on Ebay. I purchased it from the dealership itself after finding out about its existence there.

I'll try to get some pics up soon

Great looking car. You're 20 yrs. old? FWIW, best advice anyone could give you is to join a club and participate in a D.E., (track event) ASAP. You will get to see what the car, and yourself, can do in a reasonably safe environment. No speed limit at the track and a whole lot safer than burying your right foot in it on the street or highway, tempting as it may be. Have fun!

Wow, very good price for your car. I have a '96' Carrrera also which I bought last summer. This is a site you need to check out.

http://www.carnewal-europe.com

I have no interest in this site or company. It is run by Gert Carnewal in Belgium and he has fantastic prices and even better sevice. Do a search on the 993 Rennlist board for numerous references about his products and services.

Here's a shot of my car.
