1970 911T Comfort Seat question

Hi all,

Having trouble finding information on the the early 911 comfort seats. I recently purchased a set of leather basket weave seat covers to replace the old vinyl upholstery on my seats, from lakewell. Great quality, but the seat shape seems slightly different, see below (headrests removed, which were the "D" shape). My seats are from a 1970 911t, but appear squarer and wider than the replacement covers. Were there different seat models from 1969-73, aside from the chrome vs black hinges? If so, is the frame different, or only the seat padding?

Or is it possible that the earlier square back seats were used through to 1970, perhaps I have these?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Geoff

It looks like they've sent you sport seat covers.

The comfort seats are basically the same, no change to the seat back/base, as you noted.

Not sport seat cover. 356 seat backs are slightly narrower than the early 911 seat backs. Believe me, I tried before.

They're definitely not sport seat covers, just slightly more tapered looking than my seat. Seems to be a match for the seat foam, but just not sure if the frame is different. I guess its possible older square backs were installed into my car by a previous owner, but it has the D style headrests, which I thought weren't used on the shorter square backs.

As flatsixcrazy referred to, 356 seat cover. I doubt your seats are wrong, wait until Monday and check with the supplier, part numbers, measurements etc.

They do sell parts for 356s, pulling or stocking wrong part in right location is common.
