Just an observation in this age of never ending scams, "user4542" just joined today and this is his only post. Just my two cents but be careful what info you provide.

While the cost is about double that of the COA, it does contain a bit more info, and may be more accurate than the COA. The COA is a fancy certificate that is based on the Kardex info. The Kardex itself is just an image file of the original, and is essentially a warranty document. While the COA will often give you a completion date, it is in reality the factory invoice date. I have been able to compare several Kardex (within the first 300 911) with the production book, and the invoice date is often a few weeks after completion. I have seen a factory invoice and the date on it was the same as the date on the Kardex.

Hi Dave,
I have a 1964 356 SC and would be interested in getting the Kardex for it. Could you please send me an email with what I need to do to get the document for my car.
Many thanks
Simon

Thanks Chris, I do try to protect myself. I do require some proof of the car.

Attn: djpateman

Dave,
I have a '67 912 I would love to get the Kardex for it. I've had the car for about 30 years, 20 years ago I put a 2.7L, but my mechanic still has my old 1.6L engine sitting around in his shop storage. The problem is, I am not even certain the motor I got with the car when I purchased it was the original motor. Accordingly, before I try to get the motor and restore the car to original, I wan tot know if that was actually a numbers matching motor.
Thanks, Jim

Just to be clear, the Kardex is available from about 1950 through 1969 Model year, and rare for 1970 model year. Thereafter only a CoA type of Report is available. For the 17 digit VIN's there may be other solutions as well.

Hello @djpateman . I recently became the owner of a '67 912. I have the PPS, but as many have noted, it tells me much less than I'd enjoy knowing. Hoping to confirm engine and trans numbers as being original to the car (hope springs eternal). Would very much appreciate any help you can provide.

Hi Dave,

I recently acquired a 1970 911S (built in 1969) and am in the process of piecing together its history. Would you be able to assist me with attempting to obtain the factory Kardex (if it does exist) or any other pertinent information?

The VIN commences with "911" and my reading elsewhere is that the Kardex on these vehicles is harder to find. However I am eager to give it a shot!

Thanks in advance.

Kardex report

Hello. Can someone explain the process of getting this report and what you actually receive, cost, etc.? I have a 1968 911 that I would like more information. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Trying to help a buddy out.

Morning Board-

I'm trying to help a buddy figure out what kind of Porsche and its provenance he bought from his brother. (Who doesn't know anything about the car) At first we thought it was a Gemballa because of it's slightly unusual appearance, but after talking to a few folks it appears it is not so. I ran across djpateman's name in a few internet searches and joined up so that's why I am here.

He is trying to order the PPS as a starting point but the website will not accept his vin.
It starts out WP0ZZZ91ZDS.

I tried to Dm djpateman but apparently because I'm an PPF newbie, no bueno.

Any help is appreciated.

Hi. I just replied to your post over on Rennlist. Dave is the contact for Kardex, but those are only available for cars pre-1970. I don't believe that Dave can help you on this later car.

I believe that the Kardex is only available for cars made through 1969 (with an occaisonal 1970 car), your car with the WP0ZZ number is far later in production than djpateman is able to provide information on.

nota 05-21-2023 09:21 AM

are the 1970 model year cars that were built in 1969 year [before 12-31-69] the only 70 models in the listing ? or is it random
