Mount options for extra lights on longhood at grills?

Hi,
I'm looking to fit a set of driving lights on a longhood and don't want to do drilling etc to the bodywork or cutting the grills. What have you guys done?

I've seen a bracket that goes I think through the grills and others that involve cutting/changing the grills:
horn grill mounted fog/driving lights
horn grill rally light brackets

Are there other solutions people have put together that is reversible?
I'm concerned that the ones bolted to the grill itself put too much pressure on the little metal tabs that are used to hold the grills themselves on.

Has anyone considered using the bumper mounting bolts onto the front tub?

(an detail pictures greatly appreciated)
Thanks!

The grill mounted lights are actually not mounted to the grills but to the battery boxes behind the grills.

The bracket simply slips through the grills. The original kits as you have seen have the center of the grills cut out a certain way. These are both expensive and had to find. My car had the originals and I opted to remove them to safe keeping and instead fabricated brackets which simply slip through original grills and still use the battery box for mounts.

I have $10 in materials to build them. I used 3/16" steel which eliminates the need to have a secondary support bar as in the originals. They do not vibrate or shake at all.

Good luck!

Sorry for the late reply guys, I will try to take some more shots soon. The difference in mine vs. Rich's is that mine are in the shape of an 'L' and mine go through the middle of the grill similar to the originals.

Nice car Rich...I will take a picture of my Heuer timer in my car too for you!

The posting from Rich show the brackets posted in Up-Fixin #3. There were 2 versions on pages 111 & 112. These were brackets individuals and perhaps the factory fabricated back in the day for SWB cars. The early fog/driving lights used a bottom mounting post as opposed to rear or swivel mounting so a straight through the grill flat bar worked as a solid mount for the lights. I made up a pair of these brackets from scrap flat bar for use.

This is the other version from pg.111of Up-Fixin:

These are my $10 brackets:

And here are some early Porsche advertisement photo with these early style brackets in use:
