911 sc turning lights and side markers Dear all, I've bought a 911 SC of '83 and I have a question regarding the front turning lights and side markers. These are not properly working and as there is a mixture of light bulbs on the left and the right and I'm not sure on how it should be. Are the side markers also supposed to work as a turning signal and what kind of bulbs are these supposed to be? The turning signals in the front, are they supposed to be on when the lights are on as well? What kind of bulbs should I use for it? Thanks for your help, for the moment it is a bit confusing... |

is it a euro model or North American |

Just to add to what iceman said... Euro markers are located on the side of the car in between the fender arch and the door. North American versions are integrated into the front bumper. Report back which type you have. On North American models, the side markers do not flash when the turn signals are on, although there is a mod you can do if you want that capability. Here is a link to the bulbs: 1983 Porsche 911 SC Coupe - Lights and Lenses - Page 1 The front forward-facing marker lights should come on when the headlight switch is pulled to the first and second positions. I believe the side markers come on at the same time. I'm away from the car right now or I'd go confirm for you. I just went through and cleaned up the wiring in mine. It's a good time to check for corrosion on the wiring connectors and look for bad grounds too. Those are fairly common issues on cars this old. |

It's a North American model. So the side markers on the side should be single filament and the turning signals on the front a double filament as they should light up as well as you turn on the headlights, correct? I'll check the wires as well! |
