RE-11 availability
 

I'm looking for 205/55ZR16 for the front of my car. Tire Rack doesn't list that size anymore for RE-11.
Does anyone know is that size still being made or are they just on back order.
Tire Rack assured me 6 weeks (from early June). Now they're tellimg me September.

I just went through the same thing two months ago. Discount tires had to call another store who had two left and 1 week later I had them. Have you tried searching online ?

I called Tire Rack today and they said the re-11 in the size I want won't be available for another 8-10 weeks.
They have in stock an re-11a.
Has anyone used that tire, and is there a big difference between the two tires?
I track the car a few times a year.

Brian, I am not 100% sure, but I think I remember that the RE-11 is becoming the "spec" tire for some series and had to move from a 180 wear rating to 200. I have run the v1 version on 2 different cars and won't hesitate to move to the "A" series tire when I buy again.

What's the consensus on running RE-11A (front) and RE-11 rear?

I purchased my RE-11's at tires-easy.com a few months ago and they delivered as promised.

They have some in stock. (They have the re-11A's too...)

I just bought RE11's last week from tire rack. They told me the same thing, I told them to make the "mis-matched" set. They work great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They said the unavailable one was backordered nationwide, but was not being discontinued.

That's what they told me as well. I will try Jeff's suggestion or have re11a in the front and re11 in the rear.
