Which windshield seal and mould replacement for 89 3.2 911?
Hi folks,
I have a RHD 89 3.2 Carrera that has perished front and rear windshield mouldings and seals. The front glass is also very pitted so I want to purchase complete replacement while the glass is out. Can someone kindly point out to me the part numbers for the front/rear moulds and seals that I can buy from Pelican? I have attached pictures of the type of moulds and seals on my 911. Please help ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Here is a link to the catalog page.
1989 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe - Seals & Weatherstripping - Page 1 A few tips: - ONLY buy the genuine Porsche. Yes, they are a lot more expensive. The others are crap. - all you need is the rubber gasket seal. You don't need to buy the metal trim. If you're going to have someone do the work, leave everything as is. If you're doing it yourself then be very, very careful prying the metal trim out. Go slow. Take your time. It is easy to completely distort the metal. It will just make it that much harder to put back in correctly. - When you go to put the trim back in use some silicon spray on the gasket and the trim as you push the trim into the gasket. Read up on using the soapy rope method. - the rear glass is a sonofab***h to deal with if you have a defroster because of dealing with the wiring. The front isn't bad at all.

Thanks Tirwin!
So gasket rubber seal front: 911-541-225-03-M260 and rear: 911-545-225-00-M260 ? Did you notice on the second last picture of the rear window, there is a decent size gap where the two ends do not meet? Do you think I should replace the mould of the rear window to fix this issue? Left: 911-541-911-01-70K-M260 Right: 911-541-912-01-70K-M260 Thanks again! |

A "while you're in there tip" is to check the metal around the window for rust. If you find it -- and you probably will -- use a Dremel or similar and grind it out. Then use POR-15 (if you can get it in Oz) to prevent it from coming back. |
