Back from our Seattle roadtrip

Just returned from our Socal to Seattle adventure in our 1980 911sc. What a great trip! P-car ran great all the way up and back. 90 mph at 3200 rpm most the way with the help of a quality radar detector! ran super cool even in triple digit weather in central calif. made stops in N calif and oregon to see friends and folks. my 15 yr old had a great time except for fitting his 6' 3" frame into the car, lots of breaks for stretching. Saw lots of sites in and around Seattle, EMP museum, Lemay auto museum, Paul Allen museum and the water front. Wish we could have stayed longer

Hey, just thought you'd like to see a little of what we experinced instead of us in front of our 911. The trip was more about family and friends not so much about the P-car ( although my Dad really liked it) Just thought I'd share with the Pelican family. Next time I'll shoot the artistic car pix for you.

I want your trans final drive. My '78 sc 915 turns 3200rpm at about 75.

Looks like a sweet trip :0)

The cars PO said he had gone thru the trans it is possible that he may have replaced with taller gears? 4th gear at 70 was also 3200 rpm.

To Clarify, my son has told me that we were running at 3400 rpm @ 80 and around 3800 rpm @ 90-ish. My bad, I was watching the road mostly.

Glad Seattle treated you well. I think I need to plan a trip in reverse but that will wait until Feb/March when I'll be in desperate need of sunshine again. Can't leave Seattle in the summer!
