Long term storage questions
 
A good friend is going to be out of the country for an extended period, like a year or more, but not as long as two years. He needs to store his car while he's gone. Any tips? BTDTs? I know about the fluids and treating the fuel, but what about preserving the tires? Does he get the weight of the car off them? If so, will that adversely affect the shocks? Anything else he should worry about?

Is there an issue with just straight draining the fuel? That way at least you don't have to worry about it gumming things up.

The car in question is a diesel, and, thrust me, you NEVER want a diesel to have a dry fuel system.
